Saketini

Sakatini - Saki matrini

Martinis continue to be a favorite drink – and over the years, many interesting combinations have been created. You can have them sweet or savory – garnished or not – just about anything goes.

For you martini lovers who also like Japanese food, the Saketini is perfect! It goes well with teriyaki, tempura, and especially with sushi and sashimi. The Saketini is a perfect reminder that dry vermouth of a regular martini bears an uncanny resemblance to Japanese rice wine!

Saketini

  • 2 oz. gin (your favorite brand)
  • 1/2 oz. sake (your favorite brand)
  • ice

In a pitcher, combine the gin and sake and stir well with ice. Strain into pre-chilled cocktail glass. If desired, an olive or lemon or lime twist may be added.

Serves 1 but can be multiplied for as many servings as desired.
