Triple Chocolate Cake

When I say that CHOCOLATE is my middle name, you know I’m kidding, right? You don’t? Well, that’s OK….I’m not! It’s not on my birth certificate (registered in Cleveland, Ohio if you really want to know what it says!) … but for all practical purposes, yes – chocolate IS my middle name.

This cake is chocolate taken to new places….it’s a cake but it’s moist, fudgy, with the crunch of chocolate chips and walnuts (by themselves a great combo) on top, add some chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce for added decadence …. Need I say more?

Triple Chocolate Cake

  • 1 pkg (4 cup serving size) chocolate pudding mix (cooked)
  • 1 pkg Devils Food cake mix
  • 1/2 cup (or more) chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (or more) coarsely chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 325º. Grease & flour 13 x 9 baking pan.

In large saucepan, cook chocolate pudding mix as directed. (If using 6 cup version, pour extra into 2 custard cups and chill.) Pour remaining hot pudding into dry cake mix in a large bowl. Stir until well blended by hand or 1-2 minutes in a mixer. Pour into prepared pan and sprinkle batter with chocolate chips and nuts.

Bake 30-35 minutes until it tests clean (don’t over bake).

Serve warm or room temp.
