Bloody Mary Gets a Makeover

Everybody and everything is getting a makeover these days….so here is our Bloody Mary makeover with nothing canned or bottled (except the vodka, of course!) and everything fresh and bright. You can even call this your first vegetable course of the day!

Using fresh tomato, lemon, lime and cilantro gives this lighter Bloody Mary all the requisite flavors with a fresh up-to-date outlook, so use your favorite vodka. Try it without the salt-crusted glass so you really can enjoy it.

Bloody Mary  Makeover

  • 1 small plum or Roma tomato
  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 1 tsp. diced red onion
  • 1 tsp. diced , seeded jalapeno
  • 1 tsp. prepared horseradish
  • 4 cilantro sprigs
  • Dash of Worcestershire sauce
  • Pinch each of salt & freshly ground pepper
  • Ice
  • 2 oz. vodka

In a cocktail shaker, muddle all ingredients EXCEPT the ice and vodka until well combined. Add ice and vodka and shake well. Strain into an ice filled highball glass. Garnish with additional cilantro and lime wedge, if desired.
