There are so many brands of Irish Cream out there – all costing big $$$ so I thought today might be a good day to let you in on the secret of making your own! It’s SO easy and if you want to impress your friends, get some of those fancy bottles with the cork clasp closings, make up some pretty labels on your computer, and give them as Holiday gifts! They’re sure to be pleased and if they’re good friends, they might even share a sip with you! Don’t forget to shake it up before pouring.
The Original Irish Cream
- 1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup whipping cream (heavy cream)
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. chocolate syrup
- 2 Tbsp. instant coffee
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 1/2 of 750 ml. bottle any good Irish whiskey
Put the all ingredients EXCEPT whiskey into a blender and blend until smooth. Add whiskey and pulse a few times until whiskey is blended into original mixture. Transfer into a clean bottle with a tight-fitting screw cap. Refrigerate. Will last (depending on how fast you drink it) up to 30 days. Sip it over ice, in coffee, drizzled over your favorite ice cream; let your imagination soar.
